Groups, Retreats & Events

The services listed below offer a fusion of mindfulness-based and cognitive-behavioural (CBT) counselling skills, therapeutic yoga techniques and mindfulness meditation practices. 

  • All sessions are facilitated from a trauma-informed lens and compassion-focused approach.
  • Sessions are designed for participants aged 18+ (with the exception of the Presence Series for Teens).

Presence Series:  Skills for Mindful Living

4 weekly sessions for 2 hours or 1 weekend option

Learn qualities of mindfulness and foster awareness of the mind-body connection.  When we understand the relationship between our breath, body, physical sensations, thoughts, emotions and actions, we can make choices that are supportive of our overall well-being.  This encourages us to live our life and face whatever arises with awareness, integrity, clarity and presence both on and off our mats.  This group series provides psycho-education on researched benefits of mindfulness meditation practice.  Following an informative and interactive teaching session, a gentle hatha/vinyasa yoga practice and guided meditation follows.  Resources for home practice and further study are provided.

Yoga Nidra Meditation:  Stress-Relief

2 hour session

Learn mindfulness-based interventions and meditation techniques that encourage deep relaxation on mental, emotional and physical levels.  In addition to its benefits of restoration and rejuvenation, this practice can help to alleviate stress, ease insomnia and heighten awareness and focus.  This practice is personalized to your wellness intentions.

Presence Series for Teens

4 weekly sessions for 2 hours or 1 weekend option with no overnight accommodation

This group will draw on teaching principles listed in the Presence Series listed above and will be designed to meet the needs and interests unique to this age population.

CBT & Yoga for Mood-Management

4 weekly sessions for 2 hours or 1 weekend option

Learn CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and mindfulness-based skills designed to bring awareness to the habitual negative thinking that can lead to depressive spirals.  As awareness develops about how we habitually react to situations, we can choose to respond in more skillful ways.  Practice evidence-based therapeutic skills, mood-elevating breath techniques, and yoga poses that can support mood-management.  Resources for home practice and further study are provided.

CBT & Yoga for Anxiety-Reduction

4 weekly sessions for 2 hours or 1 weekend option

Anxiety is a common human emotion that we all experience at times.  When intensified over long periods of time it can feel overwhelming and prevent us from taking action that we value and result in feeling like life is constrained.  Services in this program deliver education on ways that anxiety impacts the physiological stress response in the body, as well as ways it can influence thoughts, emotions and behaviours.  A variety of evidence-based counselling skills that can promote positive change are provided with gentle movement-based practices which can activate a calming response in the mind and body.  Resources for home practice and further study are provided.
